Pedulla Studio Monthly Newsletter No.2
Edition Two - June 2025

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING
It was brought to my attention after the last newsletter that the format made it a bit tricky to read. So I’m trying something different this time. Hopefully it’s a smoother experience. Let me know what you think.
It’s been a massive month. I've been working on some walnut bedside tables with brass inlays, and thanks to the staggered effect of the walnut panels on the front of the cabinet, the two doors are actually hidden. I’m very excited about this video, and for the first time ever, I’ll be releasing plans to go along with it.
While that build has been going on, I've also been busy in the office preparing for an upcoming video. I’ll get to that at the end of this newsletter. Plus, I’ve finally been working on something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, MERCH! I’m hoping to have it ready for the next video, but it’s taking a bit of time to sort out. I’m steering clear of the usual print-on-demand route many YouTubers take, as I was never happy with the quality. Instead, I’ve found a fantastic screen printer and a small distributor based in the U.S. and I’m working closely with them to get everything just right. If I’m going to release merch, I want it to be the best quality possible.
THIS MONTHS FAVOURITES
![]() Favourite TipMy favourite tip this month actually came from my Patrons. I recently shared a video about how I prep my rollers before applying hard wax oil, coating them a few hours early, rolling onto a scrap board, and wrapping them in cling wrap to prevent fibres from getting onto the finished piece. It works well, but it does take some planning. A bunch of Patrons suggested a much quicker option, wrap the roller in masking tape or roll it over the sticky side of packing tape to lift loose fibres. I’m looking forward to giving this a go next time. A big thank you to my Patrons for that awesome idea! | ![]() Favourite VideoBecause of all the brass work I’ve been doing lately, one of the most requested videos has been about how to work with brass. So, I made a 40-minute video for the Monthly Patreon video. It covers tools, how to sand and polish as well as different finishes and glues. By no means am I an expert in brass work but these are the tips that I’ve picked up over the years. |
![]() Favourite MomentThere have been a few favourites this month. One has been finally getting the merch sorted, which has been on my to-do list for a long time. Also it was great to finally finish the bedside tables. But my most favourite moment has to be the interviews I’ve been doing. I’ll discuss that further in the What’s Up Next section. |
Whats Going On With Patreon
It turns out the way I originally planned to give away a free Patreon membership as a raffle isn’t allowed under Patreon’s guidelines, even though it was open to both paid and free members. Whoops.
But apparently a contest is fine. So here’s how it’ll work: comment on this Patreon post with your answer to this question:
What would you like me to build in the future?
The best answer wins a free month. (if you have any better ideas to make this work I’m all ears)
If you're reading this via email and want to leave a comment, you can join for free here.
This month’s free membership goes to Peter LaFosse, who left a great comment on last month’s newsletter.
MAKER OF THE MONTH - JOHN LEE FURNITURE

John Lee has been one of my favourite furniture makers for some time now. I was recently reminded of his work as I’ll be interviewing him on Friday (more on that below).
John is one of those makers whose work constantly excites me. Every time I see it, my imagination runs wild and makes me want to get into the shop.

What’s Up Next
Ok, so enough teasing. I mentioned in the last newsletter that I put out a post on Instagram, YouTube, and Patreon asking who everyone’s favourite furniture designers were. I got in touch with the top 10 of those designers, and they’ve all agreed to an hour-long interview. That’s what I’ve been working on behind the scenes. I already have six recorded and will be completing the final four over the next week.
The whole point of these interviews is to gain insight into the minds and processes of each designer, in the hope of demystifying the design process and showing just how important it really is when it comes to woodworking and making furniture.
I’ll be showing snippets of these interviews in an upcoming YouTube video where I design and build a dining table based on their design philosophies. Each full-length hour-long interview will be available on Patreon.
Thanks for your time
