WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING
This month has really kicked off the Designer Interview series. As mentioned, I’ll be releasing 10 interviews over 10 weeks, and so far the lineup includes Philip Morley, Nick Sawyer, Jeremy Lee, and Laura Mays.
A lot of work went into these conversations, so I’m thrilled with the response so far. I’ve always found it valuable to hear how other people think about their process and the reasons behind their decisions. Often a single insight can completely change the way you approach your own work.
This series has already done that for me, and it’s been great to see that others are finding it just as useful. You can check out there interviews here
Also, this month I started my dining table that works alongside these designer interviews as Ive been implementing their design theories into the design of the table. In fact I recently found great help from reviewing Jeremy Lee’s interview when It came to my leg design. You see, I had spent some time coming up with a design that in all honesty, I wasn’t all that excited about, but after going back over Jeremys interview and being reminded of his infectious passion for woodworking, I went back to the drawing board and designed a new leg that I cant wait to show off!
And last but not least, the merch drop was a real success. It still amazes me that people all over the world are wearing my T-shirts and hats or drinking from the mug I designed. That’s such a cool feeling, and I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who placed an order.
The presale for the limited-edition T-shirts has now closed, but there will be more editions in the future, so stay tuned. All orders for the tees, hats, and mugs have been placed and will be shipped out as soon as production is complete. That’s if you haven’t already received your order, since I had a small amount of stock available right at the start of the pre-order.

THIS MONTHS FAVOURITES
![]() Favourite Tip My favourite tip has to do with the natural edges of the slab tabletop on my dining table. | ![]() Favourite Video I was pretty happy to finally release my Walnut & Brass Side Table video on YouTube. Usually I release my videos as soon as theyre done being editied but due to some complications regarding my merch release I had to hold off. |
![]() Favourite Moment Even though there’s been a lot going on in the shop, there’s also been a lot happening in life. |
Whats Going On With Patreon
Now that the dining table build is underway, there are plenty of videos already out and even more to come over the next couple of months. Not just on the table itself, but also the Designer Interview series.
Another one of my favourite videos just went live, and to be honest, I may have bitten off more than I could chew with this topic. Thankfully, with the help of my Patrons, I was able to shape it into something that hopefully speaks to everyone in one way or another. The subject was tool buying, which is a tricky one because there’s no single right answer. Everyone has different needs, space requirements, budgets, and of course, strong opinions on brands.
That’s why I put out a call to hear what everyone thought about buying tools. After receiving a ton of comments, I pulled everything together into a 53-minute video that dives into the tool buying experience and the dilemmas we all face. I also cover tool brands, the emotional value of tools, how to figure out what’s right for you, what to look for when buying, and my own biggest “game-changers” (and yes, I hate that word too)

MAKER OF THE MONTH - LAURA MAYS

It was an absolute pleasure to interview Laura Mays. She is a highly accredited maker and designer, and her answers in the interview made it clear. Her approach to design and making is incredibly thoughtful and based on a world of experience.
What’s Up Next
September and October is really going to continue focusing on the Dining Table build. Oh and the baby lol.
Trying to integrate snippets of all the interviews into the build of the dining table video for YouTube is no doubt going to be my most difficult video yet, but Im incredibly excited to see how it all turns out. I mean, after all, your guess is as good as mine as a video like that is only going to come together in real time as I edit. This is one of those projects that you just have to trust in the process and hope that the creativity comes when you need it most.
Thanks for your time
